Time investment: Typically, I recommend 1-2 sessions per week, however frequency could be more or less depending on the needs of your child. Evaluations are either 60 or 90 minutes, depending on what is being evaluated. Therapy sessions are usually 60 minutes long, however this will also depend on the needs of your child and your family.
Cost information: I am an approved provider for the Step Up for Students/Family Empowerment Scholarship Program (Formally called the Gardiner Scholarship).
At this time, I am currently out-of-network with all insurance providers. Payment is due at the time of your appointment via check or credit card. I can provide you with the necessary paperwork to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement for out-of-network services. I recommend checking with your insurance provider directly regarding coverage and reimbursement policies.
Benefits of being out-of-network: While insurance can be a great way to receive services without paying too much out-of-pocket, there are some pros to working privately with your speech-language pathologist. Below are just a few of those pros:
You do not need authorization to receive services. If we as a team feel that your child would benefit from speech therapy, they are able to begin receiving those services immediately.
A formal, structured evaluation is not required. For some children, participating in a formal evaluation is not realistic and that is OK! There are many other ways to assess a child's strengths and areas of need. I have a variety of tools that we can use to gain the information needed to develop a treatment plan and goals that work for your child.
There are no limits or requirements on the frequency or duration of sessions. As your child's team, we will decide together what is best for your child and your family.
