Did you know that there are two different ways that children develop and process language - analytic language development and gestalt language development. Analytic language development is likely what you think of when you think of young children who are learning to talk - they first learn sounds, then sound combinations, then single words, and word combinations, and so on. Gestalt language development is the opposite - these children develop language in chunks or phrases first. Since the development is different, therapy must be different too!
